Jefferson Market Garden is a beautiful oasis in the middle of Greenwich Village, on Greenwich Avenue between 9th and 10th streets. It is sustained by volunteers and visits are free to the public! It used to be jail for women and was transformed into a garden by community activists 47 years ago.
